New CG-animated preschool series leads WildBrain’s vibrant MIP slate alongside season two of Secrets at Red Rocks and fan-favourite content from Strawberry Shortcake and Peanuts

Toronto – September 17, 2026 – WildBrain, a global leader in family entertainment, has picked up global distribution rights for Polydont Films’ brand-new CG-animated preschool series Nick the Mechanic (26 x 6.5’). The series will be available to buyers at MIPCOM and MIPJunior as part of WildBrain’s animation slate.
What do you do when your favourite toy is broken? Well, you send it to Nick the Mechanic, of course. Nick can fix anything, everybody knows that! What nobody knows is that he can speak with toys—and they trust him with their biggest secrets.
In his workshop, hidden in his parents’ garage, Nick and his team give broken toys a second life. A robot, a toy truck, a pink flamingo, a little airplane, a panda, a fairy, an alien—every toy has its own story, personality and problem to solve.
Together with his friends Frank, Emmy, Volt and Sherry, Nick finds creative ways to repair every toy that comes through his workshop, discovering how things work along the way. Each toy brings its own personality, challenge and surprise, as Nick and his friends inspire kids to think creatively and see the value of caring for, reusing and repurposing the things they love. The series celebrates friendship, teamwork and mutual respect, with charming toy characters and original songs adding fun to every story.
“We're delighted to partner with Polydont and welcome Nick the Mechanic to WildBrain's growing slate of premium kids' content. Set in a secret workshop where every toy has its own personality and story to tell, the series inspires creativity, problem-solving and the joy of discovering new possibilities in cherished toys, making it a fresh and distinctive offering for preschool buyers worldwide.”
Katie Wilson, VP, Global Sales & Acquisitions, WildBrain
“We’re very happy to partner with WildBrain and to have Nick the Mechanic premiere with such an experienced global family entertainment company. Nick was created out of a simple idea—that a broken favourite toy doesn’t have to be thrown away; it can be fixed, brought back to life and loved again. We’re excited to see Nick and his friends reach kids and families around the world with WildBrain.”

The season’s central force is Alice, Ted’s selkie wife, and the mother of his lost children. Grief-stricken and dangerous, her sorrow disturbs the natural world, unleashing storms, earthquakes and environmental chaos. When Alice sets her sights on Daisy, the family must fight to keep Daisy safe and heal Alice’s pain once and for all.
