Halifax, NS - 23 July 2015 – DHX Brands, the dedicated brand-management and consumer-products arm of DHX Media ("DHX" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: DHXM; TSX: DHX.A, DHX.B), today announced that the latest installment of its hit action series Slugterra is coming to Cineplex theatres across Canada this summer on the weekend of August 15-16.

The 90-minute movie, Slugterra: Eastern Caverns, will have a limited engagement in more than 50 theatres nationwide. Fans will want to book their tickets in advance and get to the theatres early, as each location will give away a limited number of slug figures to the first attendees.

DHX has also teamed up with Entertainment One (eOne) to bring Slugterra: Eastern Caverns to DVD and digital download in Canada, along with previous seasons of the show. With the release date to be announced, Eastern Caverns will be available this fall at participating retailers.

In Slugterra: Eastern Caverns, Eli and the Shane Gang accompany Junjie to his home in the strange and beautiful Eastern Caverns. But the sinister Emperor and his henchmen have pillaged every cavern of its slugs, and without the slugs’ energy, the Eastern Caverns have grown dark and dangerous. Junjie is determined to rescue the slugs, save his homeland, and redeem the legacy he left behind while under the Emperor’s control as the Dark Slinger—and with Eli and the gang at his side, he won’t have to do it alone.
