New rights will bring cross-category products to fans ahead of release of The Angry Birds Movie 3 on December 23, 2026

Los Angeles and London – April, 20 2026 – SEGA CORPORATION (“SEGA”), a worldwide leader in interactive entertainment, together with Rovio Entertainment Ltd., is expanding its relationship with WildBrain CPLG, a trusted licensing partner for leading brands worldwide, to include Rovio’s Angry Birds representation across Europe (excluding select countries across Europe like the UK), Middle East, and South Korea. WildBrain CPLG will drive a broad, cross-category licensing program spanning publishing, apparel and accessories, toys and collectibles, FMCG, homeware, gifting and novelty, and more. The new rights build on WildBrain CPLG’s existing representation of SEGA’s iconic portfolio, including Sonic the Hedgehog™, which celebrates its 35th anniversary this year.
With over 5 billion mobile game downloads and a combined 33 million social media followers, Angry Birds remains a powerhouse global gaming franchise, and its momentum is only accelerating ahead of the release of The Angry Birds Movie 3 on December 23, 2026, from Paramount Pictures. The upcoming film marks the third instalment in the $500 million movie franchise and brings together an all-star cast. Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso, Horrible Bosses), Josh Gad (Frozen, Beauty and the Beast), and Danny McBride (The Righteous Gemstones, The Mitchells vs. the Machines) return as the fan-favorite core flock of Red, Chuck and Bomb while rising talents Emma Meyrs (Wednesday, A Minecraft Movie) and Keke Palmer (One of Them Days, Nope), join the flock alongside additional new cast members and exciting guests including YouTube megastar MrBeast.
“The expansion of our partnership with WildBrain CPLG supports our ongoing efforts to grow Rovio’s Angry Birds franchise through licensing in key international markets. By extending representation into new territories and categories, we’re well positioned to support product launches tied to the upcoming Angry Birds Movie 3 in December 2026.”
Alexander Gomez, Vice President of Licensing & Partnerships at SEGA of America
“Mobile gaming continues to surge year after year, and Rovio’s Angry Birds remains one of its original pioneers. With the next chapter of this hugely successful film franchise on the way, we’re rolling out a licensing programme that taps into the brand’s powerful nostalgia, while engaging a whole new generation of fans. As we continue to strengthen our partnership with SEGA, these new rights unlock exciting opportunities for a fresh wave of Angry Birds merchandise for fans worldwide.”
