Wellington, NZ – 18 February, 2026 – Libertine Pictures’ live-action family adventure series Secrets at Red Rocks has been greenlit for a second season by BYUtv (USA) and Sky Originals (NZ), with international distribution continuing through WildBrain.

Following the success of Season One, which was adapted from Kiwi author Rachael King’s award-winning novel Red Rocks, the new instalment expands the world of the show with fresh characters, deeper mysteries and higher stakes, while continuing to blend New Zealand’s dramatic coastal landscapes with myth, adventure and family drama.
Richard Fletcher, Executive Producer at Libertine Pictures, said: “Season Two takes the strong foundations of the first series and grows them - the world expands, the mythology deepens and the relationships at the heart of the story become even more compelling.”
Says Andra Duke, head of content at BYUtv: “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with the wonderful teams at Libertine Pictures, Sky NZ Originals, NZ On Air, and WildBrain. Season one of Secrets at Red Rocks resonated with American audiences with its relatable characters, breathtaking scenery, spirited fantasy, and heartfelt moments of family connection and forgiveness. Season two promises even greater thrills, bigger twists, and even more characters for audiences to love.”
Nick Ward, Senior Commissioner, Sky NZ Originals, comments: “This is a uniquely New Zealand story with universal appeal. Sky is proud to back another season and bring audiences more of the magic that made Season One such a success.”
Katie Wilson, VP Global Sales and Acquisitions at WildBrain, noted: “It’s hard not to be drawn into the world of Secrets at Red Rocks, and we’re thrilled to be back on board to help bring its next chapter to global audiences. Once again set against the rugged beauty of New Zealand’s coastline, season two transforms that richly authentic sense of place into a compelling backdrop for fresh storylines and new characters, offering destination viewing sure to resonate with family audiences around the world.”
Season Two of Secrets at Red Rocks commenced production this week in Wellington, New Zealand, with delivery expected October 2026. Returning lead cast Korban Knock, Dominic Ona-Ariki, Zeta Sutherland and Jim Moriarty are joined this season by veteran actor Alison Bruce (The Power of the Dog, The World's Fastest Indian).
The show will once again be helmed by Director/Producer David Stubbs (Mystic, Daffodils, Reservoir Hill), with Executive Producer and Libertine Pictures Managing Director Richard Fletcher. The series was developed for television by Martha Hardy-Ward (Reservoir Hill, Girl vs Boy, Mystic), who leads a writing team including Steph Matuku, Helen Pearse-Otene and Matthew Whittet.
Season One of Secrets at Red Rocks recently picked up three Children’s & Family Emmy® Award nominations, including Outstanding Writing for a Preschool or Children’s Series (Martha Hardy-Ward), Outstanding Editing for a Preschool or Children’s Live Action Program (Alex Boyd), and Outstanding Music Direction and Composition for a Live Action Program (David Long & Stephen Gallagher). The international momentum follows the show’s win as National Winner - Best Children’s Programme at the Asian Academy Creative Awards.
Secrets at Red Rocks is a Libertine Pictures production, co-commissioned by BYUtv and Sky New Zealand, with investment from NZ On Air, and is distributed globally by WildBrain with the New Zealand Screen Production Rebate cash-flowed by Hinterland.
