Halifax, NS - 20 April 2017 - Igglepiggle and Upsy Daisy from hit CBeebies show In the Night Garden will be picking up their trowels and slipping on their gardening gloves this summer for a host of green-fingered activity at Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) gardens, to mark the 10th anniversary of the brand.
Celebrating "Ten Years of Magical Journeys,” the activities will run from 1st May until the end of June, and will consist of magical paper trails at all four RHS gardens throughout England. Children will be able to skip around the garden with Igglepiggle’s friends in fun imaginative play. There will also be an augmented reality app available for download, which will allow children to see the In the Night Garden characters come to life along the way.
In the Night Garden will also be the only entertainment brand to appear at the Family Gardening Show at RHS Garden Wisley from 1 – 4 June. There will be a special In the Night Garden zone, where children will be able to enjoy themed gardening activities, such as decorate plant pots and sow seeds of Night Scented , as well as take home a goody bag. There will also be Upsy Daisy yoga sessions, musical activities and sensory story time sessions scheduled throughout the day.
“Over the past 10 years, In the Night Garden has grown into one of the most consistently popular pre-school shows in the UK and beyond, and we’re delighted to be linking up with the RHS, who are the perfect collaborator for our anniversary celebrations with these innovative garden-themed activities,” said Debbie Walker, Brand Manager. “In the Night Garden fires imaginations and encourages discovery, and we hope children will join Igglepiggle and his friends on many more magical journeys to come!”
Alexis Pym, Education and Learning Manager at RHS Garden Wisley, said: “We are very excited to launch our new collaboration with In the Night Garden this summer. Young families are a key audience for us, and we’re always looking for new ways to give them opportunities to have a magical time at our gardens. In all four of our gardens, children aged one to four will be able to enjoy imaginative play by following planned trails to find their favourite characters and take part in fun activities along the way. Additionally, the dedicated In the Night Garden zone at our first ever Family Gardening Show at RHS Garden Wisley this year will ensure that our young guests experience hours of fun.”
In the Night Garden is an enchanting and captivating world full of fascinating stories, nursery rhymes, music and humour. Igglepiggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka have become part of bedtime rituals for many pre-schoolers, and the brand enjoys its ongoing status as a top 10 pre-school licensed property in the UK, with strong licensing programmes in Australia and China.
There are four RHS gardens – RHS Garden Wisley in Surrey, RHS Garden Rosemoor in Devon, RHS Garden Harlow Carr in North Yorkshire and RHS Garden Hyde Hall in Essex.
