New brands accompanied by full OnDemand and Broadband offerings

Toronto, ON - 20 August 2015 – Following the announcement to extend the Family Channel brand over the other three kids services in its offering, DHX Television has announced its rebranded channels will debut this fall. The preschool channels Family Jr. and Télémagino, providing entertaining and engaging programs for kids 2-5, and CHRGD, offering lively series and movies for kids 6-12, will carry the leading Canadian kids-and-family entertainment brand across DHX Television’s entire suite of channels just as fall programming ramps up.

The English-language Family Jr. and French-language Télémagino preschool brands will captivate young viewers, inspiring them to let their imagination take flight. The notion that young minds should be open to the endless possibilities that surround them on a daily basis is reflected in Family Jr. and Télémagino’s programming slate. New to the networks are the previously announced Twirlywoos, embarking on a funny flight of discovery; the live-action, CGI-enhanced Teletubbies; and, for Family Jr. only, the popular Curious George program and the Canadian original puppet series from Sinking Ship, Playdate. Fans of both networks will still be treated to Disney content including Jake and the Never Land Pirates, Sheriff Callie’s Wild West, Henry Hugglemonster and more, plus returning hits including Thomas & Friends, Justin Time, Strawberry Shortcake and more.

When CHRGD enters the market, viewers will be drawn to its wacky, wild and energy-filled environment. The brand bottles spontaneity and breathes infinite excitement and hilarity into the channel with creative rendered in a hand-drawn style.

Animation and live-action series, specials and movies take centre stage on CHRGD, catering specifically to the kids 6-12 age group’s comedic sensibilities. Joining the Disney content still running on the network – which includes Mighty Med, Phineas and Ferb and Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero among others – are specials from Mattel’s Team Hot Wheels property, the return of Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures and the animated underwater adventure series The Deep, which follows a family of explorers. From DHX Television’s original production slate comes the second season of the popular series Gaming Show (In My Parents’ Garage) from B-Minors, season four of the animated action series Slugterra (DHX Media) and Radical Sheep’s new adventure series about a young barbarian named Fangbone!
