DHX Media signs new agreements at LA screenings
Halifax, NS - 21 May 2013 - DHX Media, a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children’s entertainment content has signed three key deals in Latin America, highlighting the company’s strength in the region following a successful LA Screenings.
Global Movie PTE Ltd. has acquired the Latin American SVOD rights to a volume of DHX Media content. Best known for its variety of films, Global Movie PTE Ltd. provides streaming broadcasting services and provision of telecommunication access to films and television via a video-on-demand service. The company has now licensed a plethora of DHX Media favorite series, such as Arthur, Madeline and Are you Afraid of the Dark.
In a separate deal, SBP Worldwide S.A. has picked up home entertainment rights to season 5 of Caillou and Caillou’s Holiday Movie for South America. Caillou is the well-loved four year old who seeks so much joy in the small wonders of the world around him. Children and parents will be empowered by Caillou’s everyday world experiences, helping children understand their own adventures in growing up and using their imagination.
Media International Enterprises has licensed the first three seasons (65 episodes) of Naturally Sadie for its pay TV channel, Yups TV which broadcasts across Latin America.
Melanie Meurehg who is directly responsible for managing DHX Media’s broadcaster sales in Latin America, US Hispanic and French Canadian Territories brokered all the Latin American sales deals.
