Halifax, NS - 24 September 2008 – DHX Media Ltd (AIM & TSX ticker: “DHX”), a leading independent international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content is pleased to announce that it has signed three broadcast deals with major Australian broadcasters through its distribution subsidiary DECODE Enterprises. The Australian Broadcasting Corporation has renewed its commitment to preschool series Franny’s Feet while Disney Channel Australia has picked up Bo on the GO! and Nickelodeon Australia has acquired Martha Speaks, a Studio B Production with WGBH.
DHX also announces that it has signed further international distribution deals for the Astrada Creative series Grandpa in My Pocket. Canal+ in France, French-speaking TFO and Knowledge in Canada, CBeebies Latin America, Norway’s NRK and MTV3 in Finland have all acquired rights to the first season of this series. Grandpa In My Pocket has already been sold to CBeebies channel in Poland, South Africa and Asia, Canada’s TVO, Al Jazeera Children’s Channel and Australia’s ABC TV, where the series has rated one of the top children’s programmes in 2009 to date. Warner Home Video UK has been appointed as DVD partner and Brandzoo is the brand’s UK licensing agent. Brandzoo is planning to debut the property at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe event.
