The 80-minute documentary follows the dancers of the popular tween drama series The Next Step as they travel cross-country to perform in front of sold-out crowds during the two-month long The Next Step Live on Stage tour. The film, which was shot earlier this year, features exclusive footage of the dancers as they prepared for their inaugural tour, including behind-the-scenes on the bus, backstage, live performances and meeting fans, as well as exclusive interviews with cast members.

“The Next Step Live on Stage received such an incredible reaction from fans when it toured across Canada this past spring; we knew we had to share these never-before-seen moments with a wider audience,” said Paul Cormack, Vice President, Marketing, DHX Television. “Knowing the connection that our fans have with these talented young stars, we wanted to continue to deliver on Family’s mandate to provide access to as many viewers as possible.”

The Next Step series follows the lives of an elite group of dancers who train at The Next Step dance studio. The first half of season three, which airs on Family Channel, saw the dancers compete to secure a spot on the Internationals team. When new episodes return later in 2015, fans will see the culmination of the Internationals competition.

The Next Step Live – The Movie is produced by Temple Street Productions in association with Family Channel and is produced by Ivan Schneeberg and David Fortier (Orphan Black, X Company, The Next Step).
