DHX MEDIA SIGNS KEY SALES AHEAD OF NATPE BUDAPEST

Slate of sales made across Central and Eastern Europe  

Halifax, NS – 20 June 2013 – DHX Media, a leading independent creator, producer, distributor and licensor of mainly children’s entertainment content, has secured a host of deals for its internationally successful library ahead of NATPE Budapest.

MTVA in Hungary has picked up a selection of shows from the DHX Media catalogue including the adventurous aardvark, Arthur, perennial favourite Caillou, and the savvy teenage witch Sabrina, the Animated Series in a deal for Free TV.

Chello Central Europe takes Horseland, Season 1 on their Minimax Channel in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia while Radio Free Roscoe, Seasons 1 – 4 extends the license period to additional territories including Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania on their Megamax Channel.

VOYO, a Czech based digital platform, has acquired for it’s SVOD portal, amongst other properties, Inspector Gadget and Dennis the Menace.

In Greece and Cyprus, local channel Smile TV has snapped up some classic properties from the DHX Media library – Adventures of Super Mario World 3, Super Mario World, Dennis the Menace and Sonic The Hedgehog.

Slovenian, PRO PLUS scores sassy superhero SheZow and Sabrina, the Animated Series, as well as a raft of further DHX Media programming.

Kids Network Television (KNTV) has sealed a deal with DHX Media to acquire Mona the Vampire, the imaginative supernatural warrior of suburbia, along with the feisty Horseland tween series for its Cable Pay TV channel, KidsZone TV in Baltics. The multi-territory deal covers Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. In further digital deals, online platform stream.ru has also snapped up an assortment of properties for SVOD broadcast in Russia and CIS.
