YO GABBA GABBA! LIVE! HEADS DOWN UNDER

Halifax, NS – 30 March 2011 – DHX Media Ltd (TSX: DHX), a leading independent international producer and distributor of mostly children’s television programming and interactive content, is pleased to announce that The Magic Store, DHX Media’s W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, Chugg Entertainment and the Entertainment Store Group, are bringing the live stage version of the hit American children’s television series, Yo Gabba Gabba!, created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz and produced by The Magic Store and W!LDBRAIN Entertainment, back to the east coast of Australia in June this year.

The tour begins in Sydney, where Yo Gabba Gabba! will feature as part of the Vivid Live festival – celebrating Sydney as the creative hub of the Asia Pacific. DJ Lance Rock and friends will be turning the Sydney Opera House into an iridescent spectrum of music and dance in multiple shows across Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th June, before they head north for further performances on Tuesday 7th June at Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre. The tour will then hit Melbourne for more shows on Saturday 11th June at The Palais Theatre.

Amassing a league of musical followers, the hit show has so far garnered a veritable who’s who of musical special guests including The Shins, MGMT, Biz Markie, Mark Mothersbaugh, Sugarland, skating legend Tony Hawk, The Roots, Of Montreal, Chromeo, Mates of State, The Ting Tings, Hot Hot Heat, The Killers, Weezer & Devo, to name but a few.

The first Australian live concert tour of Yo Gabba Gabba! took place in Australia in May 2009. The Gabba gang performed with super music friends and dancey dance guests, including members of Australian legends Spiderbait, Sneaky Sound System and Powderfinger. This June, audience members can be assured that a there will be special guests a-plenty on the agenda to join DJ Lance Rock and the Gabba gang live on stage.

In October 2010, fresh off a triumphant sold-out live tour debut of the US, a headlining performance at The White House, a critically-acclaimed, chart-topping album, and an appearance at Coachella that garnered rave reviews from spectators and media alike, DJ Lance Rock and the cast of Yo Gabba Gabba! brought their fans Yo Gabba Gabba! Live!: There’s A Party In My City, which played sold-out shows to 60 cities across North America, including multiple shows at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York to a swag of enthusiastic fans.
