Many parents nowadays don’t have much time to think about what shows their kids are watching, let alone what they might want to watch next. There’s no reason to feel guilty about it. We’ve all been there.

Luckily, WildBrain has your back. We’ve scoured the YouTube Kids app and come up with some exciting fresh picks that are as fun and wholesome as they come.

If you and your family have been looking for a new favorite, check out this curated list of five shows to watch next in the YouTube Kids app.

Hydro and Fluid

Kid or grown-up, this may be one of the funniest shows you’ve watched in a while. Hydro and Fluid tells the story of two brave water molecules who’ve escaped from a lab and now must fend for themselves in the real world.

With over 100 videos available on the official channel there’s plenty to enjoy. And the best part? Season 2 is coming out this month with brand new kooky adventures!

Every episode is packed with slapstick humor and a healthy dose of science experiments made fun for even the youngest audiences. Whether they are learning about the different states of water or the dangers of dehydration, the lessons are always engaging. Coupled with the show being language-agnostic, this is sure to become a new favorite in no time.

The Fixies

The Fixies are tiny, magical creatures that live alongside people and help with repairing and restoring things around the house. The protagonist, a boy named Tom-Thomas, befriends the fixy-pixies living in his home and discovers he has a great deal to learn from them.

This show is full of fun lessons on everyday physics and engineering, great for kindergarten-age kids exploring these concepts. A good example is the episode where the Fixies teach their human friend all about levers. Or when they deliver a quick lesson on how microwaves work, with an emphasis on what not to put in one.

The Fixies’ can-do, can-learn attitude goes a long way to teaching kids to approach the world with openness, curiosity and a desire to learn. Then, the moral of the show goes, you can make friends with your environment and always feel at home, wherever you are.

This show delivers on-location, fun learning for young kids with the help of its excitable and rambunctious host – Cody. Every episode features a lesson in and about a new location – at the park, the fire station or at a farmers’ market to name just a few.

Cody, like The Fixies, encourages kids to make friends with their environment by learning about it. The lessons cover a wide range of topics suitable for very young children – from colors and numbers to animals and science to the science of pizza-making. The common thread running through all of them is the invitation for kids to ask questions and explore their surroundings in order to become more comfortable and secure in the world.

Billy Bricks

WildBrain recently celebrated 100,000 subscribers on the Billy Bricks YouTube channel. Woohoo! Since then, the stop-motion show has continued to grow and for good reason.

The main character, Billy Bricks, is a tiny LEGO guy with universal appeal. The short-tempered, impatient and kind of grumpy selfie aficionado hangs out with everyone’s favorite superheroes — like Spiderman or the Hulk — and, together, they’ve been known to kick some high scores in Fortnite.

Billy Bricks may be about silly fun and games, but it can also inspire its young audience to value the friendships in their life. Talk about a good, wholesome lesson!

Ellie Explorer

Ellie is the fun, outdoorsy big sister with whom every kid wishes they could go on adventures. She lives in a treehouse with her friends, Obo and E.V.E., and travels all over the world to learn about animals and their habitats. Ellie can even teleport! In fact, she just returned from a trip around the world to learn about the continents.

Throughout each adventure, kids learn about geography and the natural world in a fun and engaging way. Each episode features an explorer fact that can easily spark the curiosity of any young explorer and make them search for resources to learn more.

This show is sure to become a new favorite with your preschooler. And, in the process, they just may discover a new passion.

There really are plenty of great shows to discover and enjoy in the YouTube Kids app. Now that we’ve whet your appetite, you should be well on your way to finding new favorites to watch.
