Degrassi: The Next Generation, now known simply as “Degrassi”, is the television series exploring the authentic high school experience. Produced since 2001, Degrassi’s 385 episodes tell the stories of students experiencing issues as far-reaching as homophobia and abuse, to violence and burgeoning sexuality, to dating and heartbreak. With equal measures of humour, angst and heart, the students of Degrassi struggle with a series of “firsts” as they begin their journey into adulthood.
